Homemade Deer Hauler - Golf Bag Cart Deer Cart
An easy and inexpensive deer hauler can be made from a golf bag cart. Don’t buy a new cart, instead spend some time visiting yard sales, flea markets and used sports equipment stores. Don’t by one of the newer light weight models, instead find one of the older all metal models, look for one with oversized wheels, or better yet one with pneumatic tires.
Once you have your golf bag cart deer haul at home its time to figure out what is the best method for securing your hunting gear. I have a few friends that like the ease of bungie chords, but I have found that small 5-8 foot ratchet straps work well for me, they have the added benefit of being able to secure my deer to the cart at the end of the hunt.
One the way out with my “winter meat” I strap the rear of the deer to the bottom of the cart the head to the top a strap on both ends with one in the middle.
Remember, even though you will have orange on, you still should bring an extra orange covering for the trip back to the truck, I found the larger roadside emergency flags from the local automotive store work well for me.
