| | A nice Trophy Deer as my Second Deer | |
|
It was the opening day of rifle season and it was colder than I have ever felt in my life. All winter I sat on stand just watching and never even glimpsed a good buck until I saw THE one. He was walking up the trail headed straight for me and the corn I had planted. Just as he cleared the brush at about 35 yards I made a perfect hit through both lungs with my savage .243 caliber rifle. As he stumbled to the ground I said a prayer to thank God that he had blessed me with a nice 7 point trophy, especially as my second buck.
