When I'm out deer hunting, instead of going scent free or using expensive commercial scents, I use oil of anise. the scent is appealing to whitetails and its extremely potent. A couple drops on your hat or other outerwear will over power any human scent. I've actually had bucks play games with me trying to figure out what I was. The curiosity element has proven fatal for many whitetails in my hunting experience. I have personally taken over 30 whitetail bucks, the biggest is a almost perfectly symetical 10 point. He has a very special place on the wall of my living room now.
